About us
Health Libraries West is an online resource for both NHS staff and the general public in Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset. It is a collaborative effort between local NHS Libraries and Bristol Public Libraries. Our aim is to make high-quality health information accessible to the public, and to provide an online library service to NHS staff.
General public
We provide online resources, and signpost to reliable and trustworthy health information. We aim to spread awareness of the importance of health literacy and the general health and wellbeing of the public in and around Bristol.
NHS Staff
We cater to NHS staff from University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust, Sirona, local GP surgeries and other community NHS staff. We offer a range of services, from searching the medical literature to offering critical appraisal training.
