Literature Searches

The Sirona Knowledge and Library Service team undertake comprehensive literature searches across several databases to provide high quality, evidence-based information for clinical and non-clinical need, CPD, training, and work-related research.

We will not carry out a search where the purpose is for a course related project or assignment.  We can however offer you a one-to-one training session as above to guide you through the search process.

Literature searching articles

These two articles from the British Journal of Nursing offer help and advice in carrying out your own literature search.

The first article, How to undertake a literature search, is a step-by-step guide to the search process giving you tips for creating a search strategy, choosing which databases to search and managing your results. The second article, Enhancing your search, looks at searching other sources, evaluating the information that you find and presenting your results.
